Hope

Hope is the one that makes me fall

The thought things might not hit the invisible built up wall

Hope is like a colour I’ve forgotten exists

That sweeps like a halo above my words

At the end of fingertips

And sarcastic quips

I function without hope

I eat, I sleep, I laugh without hope

But when hope whistles through leaves and across tightened chests

The world sings

The clouds breathe

Unintentional euphoria

Electric eyelids

Cry out in relief

That there is something beyond

Myself

Cells full of hope

Tectonic hope

Glorious hope

At the base of every pour

In the crook of every neck

In the fist of every hand

Hope

Silent

Cosmic

Unflinching
